Rhys Green will also be delivering bespoke training courses to assist with updating knowledge, understand and practical application opposed to necessarily following a syllabus. These will not be BC or CW courses but will work off of the same concept and principles meeting your needs and requirements as a paddler.
Canoe Week
There will be one week block opportunities for all things canoe.
These weeks are £250pp with a maximum of 4 spaces available, if you wish to attend a day or two it will be £70/ day.
A typical programme will be:
Day 1
Trying kit, a relaxed environment to play with different canoes and get used to how things work
Day 2
Open water day, progressing from day one, we will get used to how things work within a larger setting typically this will be Usk Reservoir.
Through the day we will look at-
Day 3
Moving water day, progressing from day one, we will get used to how things work within a more dynamic setting typically this will be the river Towy- up to grade 2.
Through the day we will look at-
Day 4 and Day 5
These two days will build on days 2 and 3 pending what people desire more, we could look at leadership, coaching, on moving water or open water, we could go back to basics or push things further. These days are very fluid based on the wants of the group.
Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Training
Location Sheltered Water-
Ungraded sections of slow moving rivers where the group could paddle upstream against the flow (not involving the shooting of, or playing on, weirs or running rapids). Areas of open water (e.g. lakes and lochs) where the paddlers are no more than 200 metres offshore and the wind strength does not exceed Beaufort force 3, avoiding the group being swept/blown out of the safe working area. Slow moving estuaries (less than 0.5 Knots)
Through this day we will look at safety protocols, equipment, craft to craft along with multi craft rescues. This course has set objectives and with the new updates it has the paddle more in mind.

Introduction White Water Safety Training
Location Moderate Water-
White Water: Grade 2(3) white water or equivalent weirs.
Through this day we will look at safety protocols, equipment, swimming techniques, assisting swimmers, and retrieving equipment.
Preferred venues- Llandysul Paddlers, this is more of a static course staying in one venue and this can happen on most rivers.
Maximum of 6 on a course to one provider, a minimum of 4 is required for a course to run
Cost
£550 for a full course of
6 + travel
White Water Safety Training
Location Moderate Water-
White Water: Grade 2(3) white water or equivalent weirs.
Through these days we will look at safety protocols, equipment, craft to craft along with water based and bank based rescues. This course has set objectives but I have re-designed the order with paddlers in mind.
During the course we will look at, each course will have a focus on one craft unless specified.
Preferred venues- will be rivers local to Llansawel Agoed, we have a range of rivers available but we will be on and in rivers for both days journeying.
